Rihanna’s feathered hat and Ellie Goulding’s duvet gown: The standout looks from the Fashion Awards
The stars brought their A-game for British fashion’s biggest night

The first Monday in May may be synonymous with New York’s Met Gala, but the first Monday in December is the British fashion world’s biggest night: the Fashion Awards, closing out the year with a very glamorous bang.
To the uninitiated, it’s where the good and the great of the fashion industry - along with a hearty serving of A-listers - descend on the Royal Albert Hall for what has become one of the most anticipated red carpet events of the year.
And the 2024 edition did not disappoint, with a guest list that included Rihanna, Maya Jama, Venus Williams, Alexa Chung, all of the Spencer sisters - along with a protestor who was escorted off by security.
It was a big night for the nominees too, among them Chloe’s Chemena Kamali who single-handedly revived the boho look, Jonathan Anderson who was named designer of the year, and Miuccia Prada for Miu Miu, a label delivering so many ‘It’ products, sales have doubled.
Tom Ford received the Outstanding Achievement Award, while the Special Recognition Award went to Dame Margaret Barbour, for a contribution so impactful it’s likely half of the guests in attendance have one of her coats.
Behind the glamour, the event serves an important purpose, a fundraiser for the British Fashion Council Foundation, which supports British talent through grants, education and mentorship.
But back to the red carpet, which, in this instance, is every bit as important as what happens on stage - scroll on to find out who wore what…
